Waterway proverbs and other thoughts

I like the rich warm color of wood, antique varnished and well used.
Some boats have a grandeur of mastery on the river.
Some, have a gentler connection to it.
But even the proud who lift their heads,

will be reclaimed by nature’s mastery in time.

Fence rails worn and grey protect us from the perils beneath the bridge.

A house is not home, but character compensates.

Old houses built brick by brick, cement the conviction of this place.

Hard work builds character and character builds a home.

How far must we stretch to hear the sounds of our lives.

Turn away from the ubiquitous clutter of the world; enjoy the moment.

Whether you follow or lead, the journey will be unique.
